P.M. Meeting Review –

Food Drive – Lion Claire said the Food drive went well. Special thanks to Ray, Jeff and Jen for their hard work. Feedback was we were lean of volunteers at the El Camino store.
There were 171 families fed. There were fifteen plus boxes of leftovers that went to Community Services for West Valley. We were 49 turkeys short, which the cash donations covered. It was our 40th year of the food drive.

Rise Against Hunger – Lion Bill attended the event and said they had over one hundred volunteers.

Via West Social Dinner – The Eliason’s and the Ratner’s attended along with Lion Ann Harris. It was a great event. There was a raffle for a weekend In Palm Springs which Lion Ann won. Camp Via West does a lot in the community for the disabled. Everything they get is volunteer money from private donations. We typically do a work party up there each May.

Women SV ( Silicon Valley – Ms. Ruth Darlene guest speaker. The organization educates individuals about the different forms of abuse both in the poor and affluent communities (financial, emotional, etc.). SC County Psychological Association has recognized them for their contributions. Between 85%- 95% of the perpetrators are male. Ruth gave several examples of how these situations of abuse occur. She has helped over 1300 women. They are a non-profit. They do fund raisers and rely on donations. We gave a donation to the organization.

Crab Feed 2020 – Lion Carl said the food permits are in progress. There is a new contact at the Fish Market which Lion Carl has met and talked with about their support this year. Sign-up sheet for volunteers to follow soon. There will be two Leo clubs (Monta Vista and Lynbrook) to hopefully get volunteers from.
