About Us

The DeAnza Lions Club is one of 46,000 Lions Clubs worldwide, with a total membership of around 1.4 million. Our Club was founded in 1969 by the Cupertino Host Lions Club. We currently have more than 40 members, men and women of all ages, from all walks of life, working voluntarily to improve the lot of the disadvantaged in our community.

The mission of Lions Clubs International is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding.

Each club agrees to the constitution and basic principles of voluntary service. We pay modest dues to the parent body and to Lions International as well as some regional and district organizations. Apart from that each club is self-governing. All administrative costs come out of our own pockets – nothing raised for charity is spent on administration.
