What We Do

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The DeAnza Lions Community Outreach program is directed to helping disadvantaged individuals in our community. Each year we provide funds, support and a helping hand to hundreds of adults and children addressing issues of education, health, hunger and emotional well-being.

OTHER PROGRAMS & PROJECTS

Every year the DeAnza Lions Club contributes thousands of dollars and hundreds of people hours to selected charities and organizations.

Mission Statement

Empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Some of LCI’s Objectives:

CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world
PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.
UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.
PROVIDE a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members.
ENCOURAGE service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

Today, Lions clubs around the world are focused not only on the prevention of blindness and the support of sight programs, but also on health programs like the prevention of diabetes or loss of hearing. Lions Clubs are on site to help in emergencies, catastrophes, earthquakes and floods. This year, 2017, is the centennial celebration of Lions Clubs International with a special convention in Chicago, Ill, the birth place of the club

The future focus of LCI will be in 5 areas:

  • Fighting hunger

  • Fighting blindness and promote eye health

  • Fighting Pediatric Cancer

  • Preserving the environment

  • Fighting Diabetes and finding a cure
