Tail Twister Many happy dollars and some change given in appreciation for the Officer Induction/Tail Twister party. Kudos to Lion John and Leslie for hosting the party and also to Lion Jim for grilling the Tri Tip. Special thanks to PDG Bob DeUnger and his wife Suzie for participating.

AJ Robinson MSU/Silicon Valley Fall Festival – The Fall Festival will be at the Cupertino Memorial Park on Saturday, September 12th from 9 am – 6 pm. We will have the AJ Robinson van parked by the Quinlan Community Center where we will have electrical hookups. VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED, especially to staff the third shift between 3 – 6 pm. Please contact Lion Ray if you can help out.

Plans are for someone to train the first group of volunteers who will train the next group. Sharada, a potential future lion has agreed to volunteer. Plans are to have two nurses. Lion Scott’s wife, Julie Harris will due diabetes testing along with either Lion Val Isaacson or another nurse.

The new $7,000 spot cameras are proving to be very popular. So far they have completed 3500 eye exams.

Good of the Order

Omar’s Dream Run will be on October 11th. Registration opens on August 18th. There will be both a 5k and 10k run. Same prices. The committee has asked that we help on the day of the event setting up tables and chairs. They will handle finances except for the day of the run when Lion Al has been asked to step in. De Anza Lions Flag Day events: Lion Mort announced there will be a Flag Day presentation at Kathryn Hughes Elementary School in late October or November. The hotdog lunch is planned for next May.  She is also looking to have a Flag Day presentation at Sutter Elementary School. Date to be determined.

The Morgan Hill Lions Club is sponsoring “Join Us For Dessert!” fundraiser. They will be featuring Ladera’s Gourmet desserts, Marie Callender’s famous pies, raspberry wine sundaes and home baked desserts. This is a college scholarship fundraiser to help local high school seniors. It will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 1 – 4 pm. The event will be at the Morgan Hill Cellars, 1645 San Pedro Drive, Morgan Hill.

Golf Tournament: Lion Amy reports that the golf tournament is planned for June 18th, 2016. As yet Gary, course manager at Moffett Field, has not confirmed the date.

Lion Tom Tobey is in the process of moving to Berkeley. He is currently living in temporary housing in Palo Alto until is home is ready for move in. We all wish him well.
