Tail Twister – Lion Eli our “pretend tail” twister found a reason to fine every member in attendance this morning.

Soon with the help of Lion John N., Lion Carl will have the minutes posted on the website, so there will not be a need send the minutes out via email.

District Convention – On May 1st, Lion’s Al, Steve, Mike and Prez Ray will represent our club by voting at the 4C6 Convention.

Leo’s Club – There was a meeting held last week with the 15 members of the club at Monta Vista and 4 members of our Lions Club (Lions Kent, Prez Ray, Shelby and Cliff).  The students are working on recruiting additional members, and electing officers.  They are interested in getting volunteer hours through the Rebuilding Together project as well as other projects.  They will have a meeting at 12:45 pm each Tuesday.  Lion Kent asks that we provide shirts for the Leo’s club.

Menlo Park Veteran’s Hospital – Several Lions participated in helping the veterans relocate to their new facility.  The movers did not show, so once the patients were moved the Lions helped move some of the boxes etc.  Lunch was provided for the volunteers and everyone enjoyed their day of service.  Lion Ron assisted an elderly gentleman and realized he has no family left so he doesn’t receive visitors, Lion Ron wants to continue having contact and visiting with his veteran.

Community Outreach –Lion’s Kathy and Steve are designing new boxes for the collection of eyeglasses and hearing aids.  Lion Al will print new signage for the boxes to include our contact information for those interested in donating money.

There is such a need for eye exams/glasses for school age children it was agreed on by the club to purchase another 10 vouchers.  There was a discussion regarding the guidelines for the community outreach program & until this program is approved by the board we are not able to make this program public.  If you have any input and are interesed in attending a meeting at Lion Prez Ray’s home next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. to finalize the guidelines you are welcome to attend.

Fish-a-thon- This is a great event to attend and participate in.  Please let Lion Prez Ray know if you are interested in volunteering on May 8th.

Golf Tournament – Reminder there is a golf meeting next Wednesday prior to the Lions PM meeting at the Round Table on Stevens Creek.  Will be discussing budgets, so all committee chairs please be present.  All interested members are welcome.

Good of the Order-

Youth Flag date presentation dates will be discussed at the next PM meeting.

-Fremont Foundation is requesting a donation at their event this year but we received the

request too late for our club to be recognized so we would like to commit for next year

instead.

-All money for the crab feed is now in.

-Project Linus blanket making event Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. (until about 9:00) at

John and Leslye Noone’s home, 7628 West Hill Lane, Cupertino
