Website Committee Meeting Minutes 5/20/10

The Commitee Agreed the the website had the following uses:
-Members (to find info)
-Bilboard for the club
-Sponsord
-perspective members
The commitee also agreeed to make the following changes to the site:
Split the “What we do” section onto 2 parts”
-Get SponsorsAJ Robinson Health Screening
Camp Costanoan (VIA)
Flags for Students
Food Drive {2}
Student Speakers Contest\
Onesight
Needymeds

The commitee also agreed to make the following changes to the site:

  • Split the “What we do” section onto 2 parts
    • Our Community:  stuff that happens localy that corperations cannot do themselves due to our conection to the comunity
      • AJ Robinson Health Screening
      • Camp Costanoan (VIA)
      • Food Drive
      • Student Speakers Contest
      • Onesight
      • Needymeds
    • Other Projects and Programs: Everything else
  • Divide the Home page into 3 sections (currently “Whats new” and “Find out more”)
    • Our Community: with link to “community section (mentioned above)
      • W/ big picture of our efforts
    • What’s New: With current messages  and links(such as golf tournament page and crab feed page, “what recently happened” etc.)
    • Find out more: a static section with links to ongoing efforts (how to become a member,  pull tabs etc.)
  • Add a section of the members page that includes who is in charge of what for the webpage for contact purposes

Timeline for the above: Carl agreed to have a framework in place by Monday AM

What is needed:

  • 2 Pictures that capture our Community Efforts (one for main page and one for “What we do”)
  • Write-up of our community efforts (Lion Kent)
  • Pictures of all our community efforts
  • Pictures of programs

What is planned for the future:

  • Meeting minutes posted online (already underway in trial phase…soon to replace listserve)
  • Financials section of the member portion of the website
  • Members pay dues online
  • More members updating the calendar…Contact Lion Carl if interested.

    Thank you Carl for all your hard work and enthusiasm. Everything looks fine. If we cannot get the pictures on our own we should be able to get them from Lion Ray Gamma.

    One more thing I forgot to mention in the minutes…”attempt to add a search field”. This was easier than I thought. I added it to the bottom of the right sidebar (it shows up on most pages). let me know.

    The web site looks great. Thanks for all the hard work. I think the more our members use this site, the more effective it will be. Using the web site for meeting minutes, financial information, dues paying, etc. will mean much more traffic for our web site.
