Tail Twister
– Tail Twister Lion Herb went around the room collecting happy dollars. It was Lion Ray’s birthday. He rolled the dice and came up with an eleven (with the help of Lion Charlie’s foot) so we all donated a dollar to the club on his behalf.
Crab Feed
– YOUR HELP NEEDED:
- Wednesday, Jan 21…1 pm to pick lemons at Lion Steve’s home.
- Thursday, Jan 22nd…5 – 6 pm work party at Lester Santos home. He will be sending out an email with his address.
- Friday, Jan 23rd…9:20 am, at Fish Market. A crew is needed to load up supplies.
- Saturday, Jan 24…10 am – 11:30 am…Food preparation at Buchser Middle School, 1111 Bellomy St, Santa Clara.
- Sunday, St Williams Church. See our Lion’s website for volunteer list.
– Lion Al reported 300 tickets paid for early seating. 260 tickets likely committed for 2nd seating. 40 second seating tickets still available.
– Lion Jim has received the health permit exemption. He says we will likely pay $10 – $12 per lb for fresh crab clusters.
– Lion Steve says we now have $5200 in donations. Need to add Southwest Airline to banner.
Student Speaker Contest
– Thursday, February 5th at Bellarmine Room of the Jesuit Retreat Center.
– Lion volunteers needed. Contact Lion Walt or Lion Dagi if you are willing to help.
– Volunteers are asked to show up between 6 and 6:15 pm. Event will begin sharply at 7 pm.
– 5 students are registered and 2 are on the waiting list. All schools in the Fremont Union High School District are sending participants except for Fremont High School, which has not yet responded.
Good of the Order
– Charter Night
- Date will be March 21st or March 28th. Lion Ray will be sending out emails to determine which date is best for most of us.
- Location is the Blue Pheasant Restaurant. Same menu and same costs as last year.

- Lion Al has sent them a check for $20,500+.
- They have asked that our Lions Club continue to be involved in future events.
– Vice District Governor Jan Miller will be attending our next meeting, Thursday, Jan 22nd.
