BOARD MEETING REVIEW – After the Crab Feed meeting it was determined our club will put on the event again next year to see if we can make it financially successful. Cost of the tickets will be $50 and we will try and limit the cost of crab to $12 per lb. Lion Al emphasized we now have a more favorable relationship with the Fish Market working with Dwight. Tentative date for next years Crab Feed is Jan 23rd. Lion Ray is checking with St Williams for availability of that date.
Ear of the Lion – One of the hearing aids we helped provide for Margaret Taylor was defective. A replacement is being provided.
The Board has approved a check for $1500 for Ambikanagar, the school in India.
Tail twister party will be on July 11th or August 1st.
There will be a budget meeting sometime in June.
LIONS DIABETES BBQ – Our club has paid for tickets to the Lions Diabetes BBQ to be held at the Santa Clara Elks Lodge on May 30th. They are still available for FREE to anyone who would like to attend. Contact Lion Al if you are interested in attending.
GOOD OF THE ORDER – Lion Kent reported the our Monta Vista Leo Club will hold their annual end of year banquet on Friday, May 29th, 4:30 pm at BJ’ s Restaurant in Cupertino. Our club will award Silver Seal Awards to 11 Leos because each has given 50 hours of service to their community during the year. New Leo officers want to expand the club next year. Our club is considering providing them with a banner to be used by them during the school year. We would display it at our Golf Tournament and Crab Feed.
At the request of LCI, our club has dropped Lion John Smith from active membership effective 5/13/2015 so he could join the Lions Club of Montgomery Village. Lion John will continue as an honorary member of our Club.
Our club has received a Thank You letter and certificate of appreciation from EDGE Youth Leadership for our 2015 donation to their organization.
OPPORTUNITY DRAWING – Congratulations to our winner, Lion Kent!
