CRAB FEED – Lion Steve and Ellen called around and came up with some prices for crab. One recommendation was to have the Crab Feed earlier in the year i.e. November or December when prices are lower. Lion Jim said we had tried this one time before but it was not successful. Major problem is that you are at the mercy of the weather and availability.

Lion Jim and Simone have been in contact with Dwight, who is the head of all the Fish Market restaurants in Northern California. Next year’s Crab Feed will be the 20th anniversary of the event. It is the largest fundraiser for their Corporation and they want it to be special. They are suggesting they will shop around ahead of time and try and lock in a purveyor to get the best crab at the best price.

Mark the date. Next year’s Crab Feed will be on January 23rd 2016.

Board Meeting Review

Crab feed

We are looking at ways to cut costs and still provide a high quality service next year.

Discussed whether we wanted to buy top tier, restaurant quality crab or go for lower quality. Most preferred to stick with restaurant quality crab.

Looking to see if we could save some money by cleaning the crab ourselves.

It was suggested we look into taking pre orders for surplus crab so we will not have to give any away next year.

Lion Al passed around a spreadsheet showing the increased profitability if we had raised the price to $50 or $55 this year.

Small online survey showed current crab feeds going for between $45 and $60.

Tabled price decision until next month.

Charter Night

48 people are signed up including 9 children.

5 Leos are signed up to watch children. We need their names for   nametags.

We will present Leos with 5-year patch.

New member, Gerald Tammi will be officially welcomed into club.
