Tail Twister – Lion Tail Twister Herb collected a happy dollar from Lion Mort for her and Eli visiting Lion friends in Auburn. Many happy dollars for the San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors.

District Convention – Lion Al and Lion Steve are registered for the District Convention in San Ramon, CA. Voting will take place on Saturday May 18, 2019.

Student Speaker Contest – The fourth round of the Student Speaker contest will be held on May 11th at the Tierra Linda Middle School 750 Dartmouth Ave., San Carlos, Ca 94070 @ 2PM. Cupertino De Anza Lions speaker Helen Hu will be participating in the Area contest. Please come out and support her.

Golf Tournament – Lion Ray said Moffett Field has not hired a GM yet so he is talking with interim GM. Lion Ray has confirmed the June 22, 2019 date with a start time of 10 AM. Lion Steve said he would send out a copy of the De Anza Lions request letter that he and Ellen has sent out to various companies when requesting items for the raffle/silent auction. Lion Ray said we need to start getting golfers and tee sign sponsors. Lion Steve said we need to get apples and bagels for the goody bags. Lion Prez Jeff and Lion Eli met with Sandy James of the Sand Hill Properties and received $1,000 for a Silver sponsorship. Lion Eli gave info for our tournament to the Auburn Lions group when he visited them last week. Lion Ray mentioned that the Rotary website for their golf tournament was really good and Lion Dagi said she would take a look at it.

Charlotte Chastain – Charlotte Chastain the wife of past member and friend of many Cupertino De Anza Lions members and their spouses had been in failing health and was admitted to the hospital and passed away. Charlotte was the President of the her Ladies Red Hat group. Services for Charlotte Chastain will be held on May 4th @ 2 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Chapel of the Roses. It was requested that Red Hat Ladies and Lion members wear their group attire for the services.

Good of the Order –

Lion Ray said we need to look at our Lions membership roster and see if it is up to date. He noticed a couple of names on the roster that he did not think were current members. Lion Al said he would contact them to see if they still want to be members.

Lion Al read out a list of charity donations that were sent out during the month of April.

Lion Kent said he would talk with the Cupertino City council about a possible grant to the club.
