Lion John Noone gave a happy dollar for the successful NASA Cassini mission that is ending today. Lion Steve gave a happy dollar for us hopefully finding a place for the crab feed.

Omar’s Dream Run – Lion Eli talked about Omar’s Dream Run on October 15th and the need for volunteers to help Lion Mike Ringer. Lion Eli said Lion Scott Harris was going to help deliver the 8 tables, 20 chairs, and 2 canopies. Lion Eli said if you want to volunteer you must go to the Omar’s Dream Run website and register as a volunteer. It was requested by the Omar’s Dream Run Board that we do not have a membership tent set up.

Ride4Diabetes – Lion Kent was asked to give a presentation about the Ride4Diabetes to the Cupertino Bike/Ride coalition. Lion Kent said we could possibly gain two or three new club members from the event. Lion Kent said there will be a teleconference tonight hopefully to try and finalize the numbers so he can present them to the board.

Crab Feed – Lion Eli talked with a friend Mike Mench about the possibility of renting Saint Simons Church for the crab feed. Lion’s Jim Gould, Carl Erickson, and Steve Ratner looked at the church and said it looks like a good option as it seats 450 people and has a good kitchen. Saint Simons is in Los Altos off of Foothill Expressway and Grant Road. It was brought up that Saint Simons would like to partner with us in the event and feels they could possibly bring in 150 people and about 75 students to help out with the event, this will be brought up to the board.

Good of the Order –

Lion Don Lang talked about a Civic Influence Workshop at the Odd Fellow Lodge on Saturday September 23, from 1-3 PM. A flyer is attached for more information.

Lion John Noone said the release of the new version of our club website is up and running will put in the crab feed information as soon as it is finalized.

Lion Ray said he had not heard anything from the Santa Clara County Voters Registrar about needing volunteers for the upcoming election as of yet.

Lion Ray will send out an email asking for volunteers to help Lion Dagi with the Student Speaker Contest in February. Lion Don Lang said we could use the Odd Fellows Hall on any Thursday night.

Lion Eli said he had talked with Lion John Kolski and that he is in good spirits and looks good.

It was brought up about donating funds to both Hurricane Irma and Hurricane
Harvey victims. Lion Al said we had funds to donate and he would check to see how we could tie it in with Melvin Jones awards and discuss it with the board.
