PM Meeting Review

The Club welcomed a guest, Sharada to the meeting. Sharada is a neighbor of the Eliasons and potential future Lion.

The third annual Stop Hunger Now get together will be on November 14th at the St Francis Episcopal Church in San Jose. This is a 4C6 district wide event. We hope to package 10,000 bags of food for the needy. More details will be available as the time approaches.

Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) is hosting Camp De Los Ninos on Wednesday Aug 12th 3pm at YMCA Camp Campbell, 16275 Highway 9, Boulder Creek. The purpose is to let us lions see the camp in action on how our donations are being used to help kids with Type I diabetes learn how to successfully manage their lives. If you are interested in attending, contact Val Isaacson at (408) 464-3896 or email val-i@pacbell.net by Aug 7th.

The Scotts Valley Lions Club is planning a charity Golf Tournament on September 11th in Boulder Creek. Contact Lion Pres Jeff for more details.

Officer Induction/Tail Twister Party – The party is this Saturday, August 8th at the Noone residence, 7628 West Hill Lane, Cupertino. Please contact Lion Jeff if you have not notified him as to what you are bringing. We anticipate there will be 45 – 50 people. Lions Eli, John, and Ron will make a run to the storage facility on Friday for chairs and tables. On Saturday, Lion Eli and crew will pick up beer/wine, water, soda and some boxes of juice for the kids. Amy has volunteered to get the tri tip at Costco. Some help is still needed to setup and take down before/after the party.

AJ Robinson MSU/Silicon Valley Fall Festival – The Silicon Valley Fall Festival at Cupertino Memorial Park will be on Saturday, September 12th from 9 am to 6 pm. We still need volunteers to work in the AJ Robinson MSU screening participants. Lion Ray passed around a signup sheet. More volunteers are needed, especially for the 3pm – 6pm shift.  The signup sheet will be available at the Officer Induction/Tail Twister party if you would like to volunteer.

We discussed bringing two tents. One for signing up new members and one for the Leos membership drive. Lion Phil said he would bring old Lion magazines, photos and some eyeglass pamphlets to compliment our brag board and business cards.

Good of the Order

Lion Steve said Maria would make tamales on demand for us Lions. She will need two days advance notice. See Lion Steve for a menu. Lion Eli recommended we make her our Lion’s Club food vendor and start using her services for some of our events.
