AM Meeting Minutes 11-16-2017

Lions Present: Lion’s Ray, Ron, Phil, Don, Steve, Al, Bill, Dagi, Herb, John, Kent and Charlie.

Tail Twister – Tail Twister Herb went around and collected Happy Dollar’s from various Lions. Charlie rolled the dice for his Birthday, he rolled a six and gave seven dollars to the club. Lion Don gave a ‘Sad” dollar for receiving a parking ticket for parking in front of his house. Lion Steve gave a couple of Happy dollars since he and Ellen will be in Frisco, Texas visiting their grandchildren for Christmas and will not be at next weeks meeting.

Lions Holiday Party and Installation – Lion Dagi wanted to thank everyone that sent pictures of the Holiday Party to her. Lion Ray said he would give her a write up on the party for her to publish. Everyone wanted to thank Lion Amy for the delicious catered food, and specially the desserts. Lion Ray wanted to thank District Governor Bob Stewart and his wife Becky for attending the party and participating in the installation of our seven new members. Lion District Governor Bob Stewart also presented to a very deserving Lion Mort the Melvin Jones Award. Congratulations Lion Mort you are such a treasure to the club.

Crab Feed – Lion Al said the crab feed would be discussed at the Board meeting on December 19th. Lion Al said ticket sales for the first seating are going well and will probably be sold out, so we need to start selling tickets for the 2nd seating as there has not been any sold yet. Remember the Crab Feed is at Saint Lawrence the Martyr church in Santa Clara off of Lawrence Expressway and Cabrillo. Lion Steve said we have $4,494 in donations and that him and Ellen have sent out 442 requests for donations. Lion Steve said that Lion Carl will be sending out a sign up work sheet for the event. Lion Steve said we will have three volunteers from B of A at this time.

Good of the Order –

Lion Ray said the the owner of the Country Inn was looking at our Lions Club using the meeting room as other groups are now wanting to use it. We will see what the final resoluteion is.

Lion Ray wanted to remind everyone that Wreaths Across America honoring our fallen veteran heroes will be this Saturday December 16th at 11AM at Gates of Heaven cemetery in Los Altos.

Lion Steve said that Maria has another appointment on February 23, 2018 in San Francisco.

Lion Dagi said that she has new name tags for the new members.
