Bingo

We are in desperate need of two Lions to work Bingo on October 19th at the Veterans Hall in Santa Clara. Please help out if you can.

Omar’s Dream Run

Lion Al: The Dream Run was a big success. Over 600 people participated. Everything went smoothly; it was well organized. Those Lions who attended were happy to see John Smith and Carmel taking part.

Lion Eli would like to see organizational ideas used at the Dream Run incorporated into our future Crab Feeds and Golf Tournaments. He also expressed thanks for the help of Lions Herb, Ron, and Carl during the setup and tear down.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Lion John has posted the signup sheet online. Everyone is needed to signup to work Saturday and/or Sunday at the Lucky stores. If you have trouble getting to the signup sheet online, email Lion John and he will make sure your name is included. We will be working at the same stores as last year. Lion John also needs to know who is available for deliveries on Monday and if they have a truck or SUV to help with transporting the boxes of food.

Good of the Order

Flag Presentation – Lion Eli: This morning there is a Flag Presentation for three 3rd grade classes at Kathryn Hughes Elementary School in Santa Clara. Thanks to Lions Mort, Ann, and Walt for getting involved. If you would like to help out in the future, please contact Lion Mort. The picnic we hold at the adjacent park is under consideration again for May 2016.

Board Meeting – The Board Meeting will be next Tuesday evening, October 20th, 7:30 pm at Lion Al and Barbs home. All Lions are welcome. You do not need to be a board member to attend. Lion Kent is scheduled to put forth a presentation for a possible future Fun Run or Bicycle Race using a 501c3 bike event company that would be willing to partner with us.

Storage Locker – Lion Al: Cost of our storage locker has increased again this year by another 10%. We now pay $141 per month. He has begun checking prices at other storage facilities in Campbell and Cupertino.

Crab Feed – Lion Al: Lion Jim is checking into getting garbage service and beer. As yet he has not heard back from either of the companies. We are proceeding with the crab feed this year despite the increasing cost for crab and high cost of the venue. May need to make some changes next year.

Opportunity Drawing – Congratulations to our winner, again, Lion Phil.
