Tail Twister Acting Tail Twister Lion John took his job quite seriously as he went around the room extracting Happy Dollars from mostly willing members. Lion Ron gave for the recent successes of the SF Giants. Others were not so sure as to why they were giving.

Stop Hunger Now The third annual 4C6 Stop Hunger Now get together will be on November 14th at the St Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Avenue, San Jose. We will join together to pack 10,000 bags of food, to be sent somewhere in the world where it is most needed. Each bag will feed 6 to 8 people. In addition District Chairs Lion Suzie and PDG Bob DeUnger are asking each club to donate $300.00 to help pay for the cost of the food we will be packaging.

Board Meeting Review – Lion Al said the Board passed the 2015 – 2016 budget and charity budget. The net from last year was $4500. Crab Feed unknown expenses are still a big concern this year. With our surplus it was suggested we should consider putting some money into the Perpetual Fund.

Tail Twister/Induction Party – The Party will start at 5 pm on Saturday, August 8th at Lion John and Leslie’s home. The Club will provide Tri-Tip as well as the bulk of the soda/water and beer. If you are coming please let Lion Pres Jeff know what you would like to bring, ie appetizer, salad, vegetable, fruit plate, dessert. Help is needed to set up tables, chairs, etc and also break down and return to storage. Lion Kent has volunteered to bring his Corn Hole game.

AJ Robinson MSU/Silicon Valley Fall Festival – The Silicon Valley Fall Festival at the Cupertino Memorial Park will be on Saturday, September 12th. We still need volunteers to work in the AJ Robinson MSU screening participants. In addition it was suggested we setup a Club Information tent to try and bring in new members. Volunteers are needed to staff the AJ Robinson Unit and applications tent. Contact Lion Ray if you can help out.

Good of the Order

Lion Al says the IRS rules that govern our club are getting too complicated. He thinks we should consider putting some money in our budget to get some help from a CPA.

The Gilroy Lions are hosting their CORN FEED and Steak Barbecue on Friday, August 21st, 7 pm at the Gilroy Golf Course, 2695 Hecker Pass Road, Gilroy. Cost is $20 per person if purchased before Aug 16th or $25 thereafter. For more information contact Vic Lase at 408-209-6587 or Bill Hart at 408-847-7829.
