Tail Twister – Lion Herb went around the room collecting Happy Dollars and change. Happy Dollars were given for the Golden State Warriors and especially for a successful crab feed. Our thanks to Lion Jim and all who helped out with the crab feed.

Special Visitors – Lions Linda Telly & Esther Tuliao from San Jose North Valley Lions paid us a visit. Their club is hosting a Sweet Heart Ball on February 27th. Cost is $25 and includes dinner, dancing, and entertainment. Flyers will be out shortly. In the mean time you can contact their club president, Albert Babular at 408-648-3383.

Crab Feed – Everyone thought the crab feed went very well. Lion Al said that although all the bills were not in yet, it appears we will make as much money as we did last year. Attendance was down about 30% and revenue down about 25%.

Lion Jim said we paid ~ $8.75/lb for the crab. There were 425 people in attendance and we bought 825 lbs of crab. If we have a crab feed next year we are considering holding it at the Elks Lodge on Alma Street in San Jose.

Student Speaker Contest – The Student Speaker Contest will be held next Thursday night, February 4th at the Odd Fellows Hall in Cupertino. Three of the schools are sending speakers. We have not yet heard from Lynbrook or Fremont High Schools. The contest starts at 7pm but volunteers should be there between 6 and 615 pm. Contact Lions Walt or Dagi if you would like to help out.

Good of the Order

Lion Kent mentioned there was a woman outside in the parking lot of Holders gathering signatures regarding plans for new construction in Cupertino.
