They are asking for volunteers for July 30th and 31st from 10AM – 3PM and they will provide lunch. There are only 29 volunteers signed up so far. They could use apple boxes to store the glasses in after being sorted and cleaned.

BBQ – The BBQ is starting to take shape with the Flyer ready to be sent out to our mailing list. Discussions have been going on about the food which the menu has been set. The food will be served Chuck Wagon Style. Lion Al will send the information to Lion Steve so he can print the tickets. Lion Sudha is asking all
Lions to send out a copy of the flyer to their local Next Door groups. We currently are limiting the seating to 250. We could sell tickets at the door if we do not sell out on line. Lion Al has set up PayPal for the event on our website.

Camp Via West – Lion Joan said that the gardens summer crop of vegetables are starting to be harvested and currently she is harvesting alone, she could use other volunteers M – W. Lion Joan wanted to thank everyone that helped making the garden area enclosed with bird netting and Lion Steve putting magnets on the garden gate so it would stay closed. The lower garden boxes need work to make them completely closed so the critters can’t get to the vegetables. Lion Joan siad she would send a status report to Lion Al on volunteer hours and bags of food donated to the West Valley Community services. Lion Joan said that volunteers at Via West need to have lanyards showing that they are okay to be there, Other children groups are starting to attend the camp in August.

ROV – Lion Al said we still have some volunteer spots available for the Recall election on September 14th. This is an easy way to make money for the club so please take a look at the email Lion Al sent and sign up to volunteer. It is on a first come first serve basis so lets get those spots filled up and make money for the club!! Lion Al said we currently have 4 groups signed up and hope to get more teams to sign up. There are spots available at the supply truck at Hellyer park from 9 AM – 5PM and it is a really easy job most of the time you just sit around. If you have any questions please contact Lion Al.
