A.M. meeting minutes for 7/22/2021

Lions Present at Zoom Video Conference and in person: Lion’s Ray, Ron, John, Al, Phil, Joan, Dagi, Steve, Eli/Mort (Z), Bill, Kent, Don, and Charlie.

Guest – Dennis Whitaker talked about “Wreath’s Across America” and was thankful for our continued support of the veterans. Dennis said there were over1,300 wreaths presented last year on the graves by the Boy Scouts.

Tail Twister – Tail Twister Temp Lion Kent took on the duties and collected a good amount of money. Look out Lion Herb there is a Lion on the prowl. Lion Al said his wife Barbara was joining the Lions. Welcome aboard Lion Barbara it has been a long time coming.

Board Meeting Review –
Lion Ray said that the Board approved both the Administration Budget and the Charity budget as proposed.
Lion Al said the BBQ was approved. Lion Suda will be the leader. Lion Al said that there are eight positions are already filled for participating in the event. Lion Al said he will prepare the BBQ Flyer and set up Pay Pal.
– AMer’s – Lion Al, Lion Barbara, Lion Kent, and Lion Ron will
check out the BBQ area tomorrow. Lion Kent said he would
check with Ridge Winery and and a beer maker about presenting at the BBQ. There was also a discussion about music for the event whether it be a band, DJ, or recorded music.
Lion Ray said a company would provide 129,000 pairs of glasses every two months and deliver them to the blind center on Bascom Ave. for us to clean and sort. They are asking for volunteers for July 30th and 31st. They need all the apple boxes they can get to store the glasses.

Camp Via West – Lion Joan said that the garden is all sealed up with bird netting. Lion Steve, Ellen and Lion Ron will finish putting up the shade screens and put on magnets on the garden gate to hold it closed while the garden is being attended too. Lion Joan said that the camp is starting to receive paid guests again. Lion Joan said the the summer crop of vegetables are starting to be harvested. All Lions want to thank both Lion Joan and Lion Dagi for all the work they have done at the camp garden. Lion Al asked Lion Joan if she could provide some valuation for the vegetables we have given to West Valley Community Services, to which she said she would.
