TailTwister – Lion Herb went around virtually and asked everyone to donate. Lion Leslye said she would donate $2 for her grandchild who is 12 months old and just started walking. Lion Ron lost his mind and said he would donate $5 when we returned to normalcy.
Golf Tournament – Lion Ray said the Golf Tournament in June is canceled. Lion Eli said he heard the the golf courses will open Monday May 4, 2020. The opening is dependent on the golf course being ready and the County of Santa Clara Coronavirus Guidelines. Stay tuned for updates. Lion Ray asked everyone about the date in August (29th) or should he look into October since all dates in September are taken. The A.M. club members voted on setting August 29th, 2020 for the Golf Tournament, so Lion Ray said he would contact the Moffett Field Course manager and reserve August 29, 2020 for our tournament. This way if for some reason August 29, 2020 does not work we can still looking October 2020. Lion Steve said he gave up on the mass mailing software that he was using as the company was not responding to his requests to help resolve his issues with the new software. Lion Steve said he would talk with his daughter-in-law about the Mass mailing software she uses and try it. We want to try and get the tournament in this year for fund raising since we do not know what is going to happen in the future fund raising events ie; Crab Feed and Bike Ride. We would schedule the next Golf Tournament for next June 2021 to try and keep some continuity.
Good of the Order – Lion Eli looked into a program called “Destination Home” that was suggested by Lion Steve’s son who works on these types of projects in Alameda County. Lion Eli researched Destination Home and thought it would be a good service that we might want to hep support. If you would like to know about this organization you can go to their website (destinationhomesv.org).
Lion Eli said he would see if one on the members would like to speak to our club.
Lion Joan attended a West Valley Community Services webinar and got some information about that organization. Lion Joan said that the need for support to needy families our community has increased by 300% this year due to the Coronavirus. She said she would see if one on the members would like to speak to our club.
Opportunity Drawing – None
