A.M. meeting minutes for 10/21/2021

Tail Twister – Tail Twister Lion Herb collected donations from all the visitors and club members.
Special Award – There was a special award presented by Lion Joan to Lion Dagi for her undying dedication to the club. Lion Joan said it was an honor and privilege to present the “Distinguished Service Award” to Lion Dagi.
District Governor Lion Allen King –
Discussed the LCIF initiatives that have been set by the LCIF Chairperson Jung-Yul Choi. These issues supports large-scale projects that address unmet humanitarian needs for entire communities for example the Haitian hurricane victims and Northern California forest fire victims. Allen discussed his initiatives which include service in the community, Lions in Sight, increasing membership, and leadership bringing in new young members. Allen also talked about the upcoming Student Speaker contest with the subject being (How can kindness bring our country together). He also talked about the upcoming Peace Poster contest. Allen mentioned that the next District Convention will be held in May 2022 in San Jose.
Secretary Jeanine Healy talked about various ways to raise money for our charities. She also mentioned that she had District 4-C6 directories if anyone would like to purchase one.
Camp Via West – It was bought up that the garden is running out of compost and Lion Joan said she and husband Wayne would pick some up from the Cupertino compost site on Friday and take it to the camp weather permitting. It was also brought up that several guide wires that support the bird netting needed to be tightened. Lion Marie Dollar mentioned that there are several mushroom companies that provide compost for pickup.
Good of the Order –
Lion Al said that the club made $6,660.71 cents from the Registrar of Voters during the election. He also mentioned that eleven club members a one non-lion club member participated in the event.
Lion Steve mentioned that Southwest Airlines was not going to participate in providing us raffle tickets because of Covid-19 restrictions on the airlines.
Opportunity Drawing – Lion Charlie won again two weeks in a row.
