Board Meeting Review
– SMILE.AMAZON.COM:
- The site allows user to buy goods on Amazon and designate .5% of the total to their designated charity.
- Lion Al has already registered Cupertino DeAnza Lions Club.
- Site is identical to amazon.com in all other ways.
- Those that have used site have had little trouble in registering or using it.
- Check your emails from other club members for additional help.
– PROPOSED DONATION
- Lion Linda Sanders has proposed that our Club help in the purchase of 40 blankets for the homeless. Her church, the Union Church of Cupertino will be passing them out. If she buys them she can get a discount off the price of the blankets through her store.
- Board authorized payment of $500 toward the cost of the blankets.
– CLUB COMMUNICATION
- Lion Pres Jeff will talk to Lion John N about adding archive, files, and photos to the Members Only section of our website.
– OTHER CLUB UPDATES
- We are looking at dates in March for Charter Night. Let Lion Ray know if there are dates you cannot make it.
- Food Drive: Lion Pres Jeff is sending letters to the Luckys stores thanking their customers for their generosity in making our Thanksgiving Food Drive successful.
Crab Feed
– Lion Ray has signed the contract with St William Church
– Mike King from Recology participated in a St Francis fund raiser at St William Church. He would be a good contact to get a dumpster in the future.
– Lion Carl has sent out a signup sheet for the Crab Feed. Many of us have not seen it. Needs to be resent.
– Only 7 early seating tickets are still available. 40 – 50 late seating seats have been paid for although several large groups will likely come though with purchases in January.
– Lion Dagi has put a flier for the 2nd seating on the District website.
– Next Crab Feed meeting will be on Dec 23rd.
– Lester from the Cupertino Rotary will host the work party this year at his house.
– Lion Eli has recommended we have an administrator to oversee the serving of food.
Good of the Order
– On behalf of our club, Lion Phil presented Christmas cards with our donations to our servers, Beverly and Roberto in appreciation for the good service. They have done an outstanding job all year.
– FOOD DRIVE: A letter of appreciation has been received from Kathryn Hughes Elementary School. A copy is attached.
– Lion Phil read part of a report his son had done on Lions and Phil equated that with the warm fellowship of our Club. We agree, Lion Phil!
