Tail Twister – Lion Herb went around the room collecting many happy dollars. Lion Steve wanted to thank Lion Ron for keeping up the storage locker. I announced I would be leaving Lions effective end of June.
Crab Feed
Lion Al has completed the Performa. The Sunnyvale Sunrise Rotarians took care of 35% of the tasks and Lions 65%. However we split the net profits about equally. Lions share was $7778.03. We will continue the discussion at the next Board meeting. Under consideration is whether we should go it alone next year.
A change of venue is under consideration. On Monday, February 29th, Lions Eli and Ray will visit the Elks Lodge in San Jose to see if that would be a feasible replacement for Saint William Church.
Charter Night
Lion Ray has asked that everyone, especially PM members, let him know if they will be attending Charter Night. Currently there are 34 people signed up. We will again be meeting at the Blue Pheasant Restaurant. Menu is beef, fish, fowl or vegan. There will be a St Patrick theme. Lion Mort has agreed to work on decorations.
We may need someone to pickup Marge and Charlotte. Lion Charlie had volunteered however he may not be able to make it.
Golf Tournament
Lion Eli reported there was a good turnout for the golf planning meeting last Tuesday. Some of the discussion items:
Moffett Field Golf Course has carts for up to 120 golfers although the course can handle 144 people. We also have need for golf carts for administrative purposes. One possibility would be to have some of the Lions walk and have Leos caddy for them.
Golfing forms need to be tweaked and the website needs to be updated. Because of company policy and insurance needs, all beer sales will be through the golf course.
Lion Eli said he would work with Lion Mike Ringer to meet with Google and see if we can get some concessions.
Lions Amy, Vijay or Ray should handle all correspondence with Moffett Field.
At the request of Lion Vijay, we will use the banner again this year rather than putting an article in the local newspaper.
It is recommended we have a pop up/take down crew for the beverage tent and also a banner committee.
Lion Steve & Ellen would like some younger members work with them on donations so they can eventually take the project over.
Good of the Order
Lion Mort reported that Lion Howie and Kathy have been moved to an Elder Care house and are doing reasonably well. We need to keep them in our thoughts.
Bicycle Fundraiser: Lions Kent, John N, and Eli have been mapping out some potential routes. They are very optimistic this can be a big fundraiser for our club. Earliest date would be late summer of 2017.
First District Vice Governor Barbara Chamberlain will visit our PM meeting on March 2nd and AM meeting on March 3rd. Please wear your yellows and show our club spirit at the meetings.
Project Linus is scheduled for 7 pm on April 7th at the Odd Fellows Hall in Cupertino. Contact Lion John N if you have any questions.
